Team Suzuki Press Office – May 31.
The opening weekend of June sees Team SUZUKI ECSTAR riders Alex Rins and Andrea Iannone on track for Round 6 of the MotoGP™ World Championship at the Circuit of Mugello in Italy, while in America, Round 4 of the MotoAmerica Superbike series takes place at the Road America circuit with Toni Elias and Roger Hayden holding 1st and 13th positions respectively aboard their GSX-R1000 Superbikes.
Also in America is Round 3 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with Weston Peick and Phil Nicoletti aboard the RM-Z450 bikes and Justin Hill and Enzo Lopes on the RM-Z250s.
June 1-3:
Round 4. MotoGP™ World Championship. Circuit of Mugello. Italy. Both Team SUZUKI ECSTAR riders Alex Rins and Andrea Iannone hope to build on the positive progress made so far during the season, that has rewarded both riders with podium positions. Both will be on-track tomorrow for the initial Free Practice (FP) sessions at the iconic circuit, with FP3 and FP4 followed by Qualifying on Saturday to determine grid-positions for Sunday’s race.
June 2-3:
Round 4. MotoAmerica Superbike Championship. Road America. USA. Reigning Champion Toni Elias has won 5 of the 6 races so far aboard his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 and commands a 35-point lead in the series, while team-mate Roger Hayden has suffered some bad luck so far and is looking to get back into the championship hunt.
June 2-3:
Round 3. Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Thunder Valley National. USA. Weston Peick continues to keep the Autotrader/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory Racing RM-Z450 in the top-5 positions and is aiming to move-up from his ‘equal-5th’ in the series this weekend; similar to team-mate Phil Nicoletti, who is standing-in for injured Justin bogle. In the 250 class, former champion Justin Hill and new team-mate Enzo Lopez are also hoping to move forward in the 12-round series aboard their RM-Z250 machinery.
