Team Suzuki Press Office – May 3.
The first weekend of May sees four Suzuki race teams in action in Spain, America and the UK for MotoGP™, AMA MotoAmerica Superbikes and AMA/ FIM World Supercross and British Superbikes and Superstock 1000.
At the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, in Spain today, Team SUZUKI ECSTAR riders Alex Rins and team-mate Joan Mir completed the opening FP1 and FP2 sessions aboard their GSX-RR machinery ready for tomorrow’s final qualifying sessions ahead of Sunday’s fourth round of the series.
In America, Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Toni Elias and new team-mate Josh Herrin, currently first and third in the championship on their GSX-R1000 motorcycles, are at Virginia International Raceway for round three. Also, in America is the final round of the AMA/ FIM World Supercross Championship at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas with a full house of JGRMX Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 riders.
The Buildbase Suzuki Team is at Oulton Park, Cheshire, in the UK for round two of the British Superbike Championship where SBK riders Bradley Ray and Luke Stapleford, along with Superstock 1000 rider Richard Cooper are getting ready for Monday’s Bank Holiday race.
May 3-5:
Round 4. Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto. Jerez. Spain. Following his historic victory at the Circuit of The Americas last month, Alex Rins is at his home GP, along with team-mate Joan Mir.
May 4:
Round 17: Monster Energy AMA/ World Supercross Championship. Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas. USA. This event includes both the main 450 class, along with 250 East and West classes.
May 4-5:
Round 3. MotoAmerica/ AMA Superbikes. Virginia International Raceway. Virginia. USA. Elias currently leads the series with Herrin 3rd, 41 points down on the 2017 champion after bouncing back with a race victory at the previous round at COTA.
May 4-6:
Round 2. British Superbike Championship and Superstock 1000 Championship. Oulton Park. Cheshire. UK. BSB riders Luke Stapleford and Bradley Ray hold 6th and 12th respectively aboard their Buildbase Suzuki GSX-R1000 machines. In Superstock 1000, Buildbase Suzuki’s Richard Cooper leads the series. Suzuki privateer team OMG Suzuki’s Josh Elliott and Luke Mossey hold 1st and 4th in the BSB class after their stunning performances at the opening round at Silverstone in April.
